BOB GAJDA ATTENDS NATIONAL FITNESS
HALL OF FAME CEREMONY HONORING
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER AS
“FITNESS SPOKESPERSON OF THE CENTURY”
Bob Gajda, Executive Director of the Gajda Health Plus Network in Palatine and Bannockburn , Illinois , was in Columbus , Ohio , March 3-6 to attend the induction ceremonies of the 2011 Class of the National Fitness Hall of Fame and the 2011 Arnold Sports Festival.
Gajda, who was inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in 2008, is a regular attendee at the Hall’s induction ceremonies. These are usually held in Illinois since the National Fitness Hall of Fame headquarters and Museum is located in Minooka. This year, because of the special award for “Fitness Spokesperson of the Century” to Schwarzenegger, the induction was moved to the Arnold Sports Festival.
The Festival, established by Schwarzenegger in 1989 as a one-day professional men’s body-building competition, has developed into the world’s largest multi-sport weekend with 46 sports and events, including 13 Olympic sports presenting fitness and fun for all ages.
Bob Gajda is a Triple Crown Winner - Mr. America, Mr. USA and Mr. Universe – and developed many innovative training and rehabilitation techniques used by top athletes such as Jim McMahon, Dave Duerson, Gary Fencik, John McEnroe, Dennis Savard and Bill Buckner.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has used Gajda’s techniques. They had an opportunity to visit at the Festival and Arnold said, “I still use his training methods to this day. The P.H.A., where you don’t stop, you keep going from exercise to exercise”. Gajda wrote a paper on P.H.A. (Peripheral Heart Action), originally known as Sequence Training, which was widely distributed, viewed as years ahead of its time and is still available. He describes P.H.A. as a philosophy that entails a comprehensive physical approach to exercise program planning and training. He is also the co-author of Total Body Training, Total Body Training II and the author of Power Tennis.
Gajda holds degrees in Physiology, Exercise Physiology, and Biomechanics and is a registered Kinesiotherapist. Today he continues his work with individual athletes and professional teams and helps people with sports and work injuries, strokes, multiple sclerosis, severe arthritis and other degenerative diseases.

August 2009
ABA Honors Bob, Bill and Sergio
Bob Gajda, Bill Seno, and Sergio Oliva were honored on August 1, 2009, at John Hansen's ABA North American Championships.
What is not seen is the standing ovation received at the end!
We hope to do it all again next year when native and former Chicagoan Frank Capallupo returns here to win (I know he can) the Masters Natural Olympia contest that John Hansen landed as promoter.
OK, now everybody has a year's notice to get in shape for it! Opti-Pro, Viobin, Hoffman's Hi-Proteen, raw eggs, Brewer's yeast, and dessicated liver tablets by the barrel full.
Piece a' cake.
